In South Korea, one third of the population is playing internet games.
For some, it is not only a hobby but a well-paid profession. Corporations sponsor teams and provide housing where players live and practice together.
Al Jazeera’s David Hawkins reports from a competition in Seoul, where thousands of fans cheer the contestants.
lol but that doesn’t excuse sitting around like a fatass, which was what I was talking about. Everyone needs some exercise, regardless of how you get it. Grats on bad though.
you too man.
^_^
Lot of ppl who do a lot of physical exercise have lower life expectancy. Check the ppl who live over 100, they all lived normal lifestyles, they are not exercise freaks.. go figure.
yeh me too, sry for all the hassle, just got a little excited for diablo3..
have a good day ahead =].
suki
Uh, No.
Alright, I’m gonna calm down now. This isn’t something to argue too much about. New games come out all the time, and its hard to keep up with a single Esport although Starcraft is the exception.
Sorry for making it such a big deal. I’ll stop now.
I apologize to you if u felt my first post was harsh, but when u said”so please dont comment if you dont know. ” i find it rather offensive as well, when i was merely making a generalize comment about online gaming.
ok, it did mentioned once in the vid, watched it a few days back cant recall everything it was said, fyi, SC was not visually SHOWN in words. The vid also emphasis on ESPORTS, once again, listen carefully and read the comment carefully.
the video DOES mention starcraft, and doesn’t mention any other game. It starts off at a Starcraft final and ends up interviewing a starcraft player. are you deaf/blind?
soo, how about WATCHING the video itself and not just reading the heading + description next time?
You’re wrong there mate.
bunch of lames,
I love video games
but this is a little much
ar.. hello, look at the heading, does it mentioned SC? then look at the description, does it mentioned SC? the video doesnt even mentioned SC.
please read before commenting.
gee, you are commenting on a video that ONLY talks about STARCRAFT and its impact on South Korea.
never did i mentioned “STARCRAFT”, u are putting words into my mouth, all i am “just saying” in which applies to cs,diablo or any other games.
if u are a devoted fan of SC, good for u, please, and once again, don be arrogant.
i’m arrogant?
you’re the one who diminished the game without ANY knowledge about it.
so no. please don’t be “just saying” next time.
keep in mind, no games can be popular forever and i was just saying.
don be arrogant =]
its been over 10 years since starcraft came out.
so please dont comment if you dont know.
Awesome.
Lol wow….
diablo 3 is coming, i wonder.. XD!!!
The game is ten years old, if it went away, it would have went away long ago.
Most Korean progamers are more fit than the average person, since a lot of them excercise daily and eat healthy.
These progaming teams are actually well organised and make sure their members work out a few times per week. Their mental health is also closely monitored.
For all you curmudgeons who so alarmed by this, what is the big deal? These people are just taking out some time from their hectic lives to do something very human: to have fun.
The average Korean is very educated and works long and hard hours and is among the most productive workers in the world. Give them their time to have fun with videos. They’ve earned it.
NERDS….
